Recent turnings

A friend of mine is turning 60 today and I made this pen for her. It is ambrosia maple with a purpleheart CB.



Also had a piece of sapele I decided to take another stab at a bowl. I dyed the rim with a black sharpie and wiped it back with DNA.




Didn't want you guys to think I forgot how to make things spin!

It demonstrates an artistic eye (oops, hand) and the rim staining really set its apart.
