Hey
I was wondering about the MT2 ball bearing center from Harbor Freight. Has anybody ever used one of these and if so does it work well? Could it work on my shopsmith with a #2 MT? It seems to look pretty good but any feedback would be really helpful.
Thanks, Patrick

I have not used one, in fact I don't ever recall seeing them at the Raleigh store. But, it's pretty hard to mess up a live center, so I would think it's a safe bet. If you don't like it, HF is very good about returns.

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

Dave, I don't think I've seen at HF-Raleigh, but I think I've seen on their Web-site. Order Online only.

Could someoned post the link ? I've bought a couple of their MT2 items, but not sure which one is being discussed. As far as I can tell, no issues.

But being my first foray into woodworking and with HF Lathe and acessories, my 2cents may have to be discounted. LOL

If it's not at the local store, you can get free shipping! But, better, hurry, it expires 12/10.

Bas,
You are awesome

I orded about $20 worth of stuff. I never would of done it for such a small amount, but with free ship, its a no brainer. BTW, when ordering, their screen showed coupy good till 12.31.08 not sure what's going on there, but may try again after Christmas to see if works!

I've signed up for their coupon emails, but never seen or got this. Did you sign up for their Platinum Membership?

Thanks again
Matt

Re: MT2 ball bearing center from Harbor Freight

DOH! Why did I stumble on this 5 minutes after ordering?

Someone pointed me at the small parts chuck I was abot to order from Grizzly for less at HF. I called HF to let them know I forgot to enter my coupon code and they told me they can correct my order tomorrow, so hopefully it is not too late and I will get the discount.

Robert, YES! Through the 10th. Which should mean til 11:59.9999pm Weds eve.

But, when I ordered my stuff this morning. The online Coupon code showed as being good TILL/Through 12/31/08.

So when ordering pay attention when entering coupon code. You may get an extra 10 or so days.

Matt

Re: MT2 ball bearing center from Harbor Freight

I emailed them after my order and they issued me a credit. In the meantime, I had figured it wouldn't happen and went ahead and ordered a couple of other things with the code - makes a few small things a lot more worthwhile. So I ended up getting it twice.
