The AAW symposium in Richmond was great. My son and I had fun seeing all the presentations. He got to participate in the Youth Turning and had 2 classes with Bonnie Klein and 1 with Joe Ruminski. All the kids that participated in the program got their names in a hat for the 25 lathes and tools that were donated by the manufacturers. My son's name got picked!  We came home with a 3 day old Jet 1014I, stand, Crown tools, Nova Chuck, faceshield, etc. Then on top of that I won a $100 worth of wood from Florida Exotic Woods!
Overall a very good weekend. |

The Crown tools he has now are much better than my Harbor Freight set but my Powermatic 3520 still trumps his Jet. But over all not bad for an 8 year old.
