My Dad and step-Mom were in town this weekend and she liked my Dad's pen so much I made her the pen below. I think it is the best pen I've down so far. The finish was glass smooth.

Mike, I like the shape of that one. Isn't curly wood fun. Did you get the box I sent you? There's a lot of fun it it.

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

Re: Curly Maple pen...

Mike...the pen looks great! I do like the shape too.

Dave, I have the box from yesterday and have to make plans to meet Mike. I've taken the liberty to pull out a few blanks that I wanted so there's not as much fun in there anymore...thx! haha....just kidding

Cheers!
Chris

Looks Great; I also like that shape and curly maple is usually stunning on most projects.

Re: Curly Maple pen...

Looks like you have it down ,glad your mom liked the pen.
A little tip on the photography.
Try focusing on the CB of the pen when you are taking a picture.
This will stop the far end of the pen(in this case the finial end from being"out of fucus)
Another suggestion would be to add as much light as possible.
The Phillips natural light bulbs are good and don't throw off colors.
Just a thought.
Thanks for posting.

I had the toughest time taking a pic of the pen. I tried a black background which created way to much contrast and the pen looked snow white. The white counter in my kitchen seemed to work pretty well, but I agree that it needs to be lit better. Thanks for the compliment and suggestions.

Re: Curly Maple pen...

Try using a light grey, tan or light blue background, inother words neutral colors.
You found out why white doesn't work.
Red sucks also
