Well I was never sure about the corian pens. I haven't really like many but I was in the Greensboro Woodcraft today and they had some so I just had to give them a try. I think it turned out pretty good the pictures are not but the pen look pretty cool. It's copper trim, it's hard to tell in the picture. I was suprised it turns about like Acrylic just a little harder. I also used WD-40 when I was drilling it to help keep it cool. It did a pretty good job. Anyway.... I think I will turn some more down the line. Here is what happened tonight in the shop......

Re: Corian Wall Street

You did a fantastic job.

So do you need a special tool to cut the Corian on the lathe?

Great job Kevin, it is good sometimes to try different materials.

Re: Corian Wall Street

Michael as far as special tools go, I just used a gouge to turn it. I did use the skew a little to smooth it out a little. I sanded from 150 - 400 and them MM 1500 - 12000 and polished with the HUT plastic polish.

I really need to set my light box up to get some better pictures.
