It's also a function of what you are making. I mostly use a router for one of two things - excavating/hollowing or edge dressing - and generally on one board at a time and not both on the same day. The rotary tools are really mostly for carving, not routing, though microrouting for inlay is something they do well. One of them is pretty much dedicated to driving a reciprocal carver.

well I used to have 13 but sold one so an even dozen here. some are dedicated to a table and some are set up for specific purposes. I had 3 for the table but got a shaper so I got rid of one of those. also have a dremel and a dumore.[same as a fordom only older!] I use em all and realy wouldnt want to have less. routers are like clamps..........
