Talking New TS Gloat

My first....table saw AND gloat, that is!

I went for the Hitachi C10FL. Was able to take advantage of the 15% off and $100 gift card rebate at Lowes (100 bones towards the planer!). So far, I am very pleased. Setup and adjustments were simple enough for a newbie. Came with a carbide tipped combination blade, and test cuts on some 1x oak and 3/4" ply looked good.

While I was there I picked up supplies for building a workbench. I found the plans in a book I bought a couple weeks ago. Made entirely out of 3/4" birch ply laminated together for strength with an MDF top. I have all the pieces cut and started to glue the first couple of pieces. This will also become the table saw outfeed to help me handle longer pieces. So I guess this will actually be my first project, not the bookcase.

Now were makin' sawdust

Re: New TS Gloat

Dave, I checked out that saw a bunch before pulling the trigger on my (clearance priced) JET at lowes. seems to be a really nicely featured machine, and you saved a bunch to boot! THAT ROCKS!

Congrats! There's nothing more exciting than getting a new tool and then using it to make something right away! Be sure to post some pics of the saw and the finished workbench too
