Smile minor tool gloat...

Went into a thrift store the other day...just looking around for a bargain.
Well, to my surprise sitting on the shelf was a Porter-Cable 6912 D-handle router with a 1/4" collett for $24.92. I tried it out ( plugged it in),checked it out, in every way I could at the time, bought it and brought it home, cleaned it up and made some test cuts....alas, it works perfectly!
What a deal I couldn't believe it, a $169.00 router for $24.92!
It pays to look at thrift stores...never know what you'll find there.
My 5th Porter-cable tool,(circular saw, random orbit sander, belt sander, variable speed jig saw, now router) guess I'm a tool junkie ...what do you think?
Like I needed another router...this is my 6th one...where does it stop?

Hey Jim,

You gonna tell us where this thrift store is? I could use a couple of tool deals like that myself.

Thumbs up Re: minor tool gloat...

Hey all,
I found that D-handle router at Community Thrift store on Freedom Dr.
in Charlotte last Friday afternoon. I check there two or three times a week, first time I found much of anything worth having in a while.
Up until a couple of weeks ago they had an old, old Craftsman tablesaw,
late 40's or early 50's vintage with a 7" or 8" blade, they finally reduced it to $30.00 or less to get rid of it! Once in a while you can get something worthwhile but they are few and far between.....If I find any other good bargains like the router, if someone is interested let me know and I'll try and get it and get in touch with them thru e-mail or by phone or what ever method works...I'll post what I find asap.
Thanks to you all, eezlock-in Charlotte
