If you are thinking about building a mobile base, and need a lifting caster, Rockler sells theirs separate from their mobile base kit (item # 92051). Item # for lifting caster only is 23650, price $19.99. Don't forget to use link here a North Carolina Woodworker, and code D9204 for FREE SHIPPING. Bruce

They are really good! I replaced almost all of the manufacturers' mobile bases with ones of my own design using the Delta-style step caster from Rockler! I even put one on my NYW router cabinet. When I started a few years ago they only cost $14.

Alan,

What are you doing showing a picture of somebody else's planer, now what I real want to see is that roller base on the beast.

Yes, well the beast is a totally different story!!! Fortunately, the previous owner but some really heavy-duty industrial casters on it.

Re: Lifting Caster for Mobile Bases

Homier (homier.com) sells a mobile base for $22.99. Lifting caster is kinda weak, but fixed wheels and leveling feet can be robbed for use in home made base. However, if base is a size you can use, it is a steal.
