Lathe Height

I'm 6' tall! What would a good height for the center line of the lathe spindle be?

Re: Lathe Height

Stand up and measure from the floor to your elbow. That's about a good comfortable height.

Re: Lathe Height

Mike hit on the head,it works out to be the most comfortable and safest height.Plus it allows you to hit your live center dead on the middle of your elbow which is good for maximum pain.

Re: Lathe Height

I just raised my lathe this weekend. I'm 6'1" and the centerline is at 44 inchs.
