Re: It's dead!

It looks like all of the Milwaukees have a quick change cord that apparently is easily damaged and gets so it won't stay connected. They have a couple in the plant where I work and have had to replace the cords a couple times already. One had a switch go bad after a few months.

I like Milwaukee, always wanted one, but I'm not so sure of the newer ones.

For the right price that would be a great do everything drill but I would not buy a drill with a keyless chuck.A cordless drill with one is great but if I'm drilling big you cannot get that chuck tight enough no matter what you do.

Re: It's dead!

not all of the cords on milw.... are removable type. I carry one with removable cord in a tool box full of sharp and heavy stuff everyday and have never damaged one. and it has never come off on its own. its been in there 8 years. if it does i'll put it back on with a couple drops of silicone. simple soluton to a minor problem!

Re: It's dead!

When I was climbing pole for Duke, we had Milwaukee 1/2" drills on the trucks that we used every day with ship auger bits boring holes through poles. They were TOUGH!

BUT, since I wouldn't know where to start looking for a Milwaukee today, and I'd like to have parts and repair/replacement nearby, I'd probably go Makita. Seems their bigger tools always do a great job.
