I have been happy with every Hitachi tool I have used.

Re: hitatchi coudless drill

I have the 14.4v cordless & I really like it. The keyless chuck really grabs a bit. The only problem I have with it is backing out stubborn screws. The chuck tends to loosen when you let the clutch slip in reverse. I solved that problem by buying the 14.4v impact driver. I use them both regularly at work & don't regret either buy. I believe most of these tools are being phased out now in favor of the Lithium ion battery models. Some bargains are to be had for a home shop.

Re: hitatchi coudless drill

I have a Hitatchi belt sander and circular saw. They are not used every day but when I need them, they do the job and well. I say go for it.

Re: hitatchi coudless drill

I would go for it --all of the Hitatchis that we use in the housing construction have held up great and we do use them everyday

Re: hitatchi coudless drill

No knocks on Hitachi, but as far as batteries go, I am preferential to Lithium-Ion after getting the Bosch driver.
