Other than that, we are not real sure what to use it for, but maybe it will come in handy for something...like filing my toenails???

It operates much like the old dental drills (you're to young to ever have been terrorized by one of those belt-driven terrors in the hands of an unskilled dental hygenist!) except it has a flexible shaft and turns various carbide cutters at very high speed. As said above, Dremel makes a smaller version, but the Foredom is the tool of preference for detailed machine carving.

It works well for this purpose but doesnt have the power to do anything larger.
This machine looks like a great way to try out wood carving... Plus you can make a few bucks on the side by offering amateur dentritry services in your neighborhood!
