The blade guard was with it. I just had it off for pics. As for the table, I can handle that. Thanks for the tip, though.

I have that same RAS, and it is not on the list of models that can be upgraded due to the safety recall. I bought mine for a $100, which is the same amount that you could get by shipping the motor back to Sears.
I use mine all the time, and don't find any safety problems with it as long as you use common sense and don't put any body parts that you want to keep in the path of the blade.
