Name: John Richards City: Hickory State: NC County: Burke Join Date: Oct 2005 Age: 33 Avg Visit Freq/Week = 6.07 over 30 days | The byrd head arrived for my jointer today. I already have the old head out and just have to take it into work to press the bearings off during lunch. Unless I can get some nice Timken replacement bearing cheap.
It is a very beautiful head. I'll take pics tomorrow as I install it for you guys to see the process of how the head comes in and out of a jointer. Most of them are made very similar. I know the thought of taking out your jointer head may be daunting to some folks.
Thanks,
John

Name: John Richards City: Hickory State: NC County: Burke Join Date: Oct 2005 Age: 33 Avg Visit Freq/Week = 6.07 over 30 days | I just finished the jointer head install and the writeup on my website. Here is the page. http://www.jsrwoodworking.com/jointe...verinstall.htm
I hope it helps folks who might be considering an upgrade. Most jointers are very similar so my instructions should help out. It only took about 2 hours total time.
Thanks,
John
