March 21, I snagged the Delta 22-580 planer Brian (bdjessup) had for sale. When I arrived to pick up my score, he found he had three sets of spare knives for the planer, which he tossed in the deal at no extra charge! 
Not pictured is the dust chute, and the hanger Brian had fabricated (another nice freebie he forced me to take  ).

I have the 22-580 and it does a good job. I generally take light cuts, 1/4 turn between passes. On wide stock (10 -12 inches) I go a little bit less between passes. FWIW I rarely use the slower "finish" speed.
Once upon a time they used to carry those replacement blades at Lowes. I just got a set from Amazon. This is my third replacement set in 5 years. Three sets should last you a very long time.
