i was given a vintage delta bandsaw,having limited experience with these.i have a couple of questions.first...how much tension to fun on the blade? and second....hoe tight to the blade do the square guind pins need to be? i know,i know no pics...didnt happen.pics to follwo in a gloat shortly.thanks,allen

Allen, congrats on the pre-gloat! Suckage witheld pending pics!

Blade mounting and tensioning done with power plug pulled. I tension by hand/feel. Three fingers on the band pushing from the side I look for around +/- 3/16 inch deflection with moderate side force midway between the wheels. I know, I know...not very technical but it works for me.

I set the side guides within a dollar bill of the band, ie - very close. Thrust bearing two dollars away from the band. I set the front of guides just a smidge behind the gullets. When you push the band into the thrust bearing the side guides should be just clear of the gullets.
