Does anyone make a higher quality blade for the #92 than what is offered at WC. I checked with Hock and didn't see anything listed. My FIL needs one, and I would like to hook him up better, as he wore out his original one from WC.
TIA,
Dave

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

Dave,

Our own Jim Reed makes blades, you might try him and see if he has one.

MWTCA meet is in a couple weeks in Bethania. Might be able to find one there. Check with one of the guys going. They may be able to put in a good word for one.

Re: New blade for a Stanley #92

92 blades are still available from Stanley: http://www.stanleytoolparts.com/12-327-1-02-0b-10.html I've ordered 90 series plane parts (including blades) from Stanley before and they have worked fine on the older planes. They sharpened up just fine. Now, these may be the same blades they have at WC. The stock blades in the 90 series rabbet planes have always worked OK, maybe because I always take light cuts. St James Bay Tool Co. offers a replacement 92 blade, they do not give a description, but a quick email to them will get some more info: http://www.stjamesbaytoolco.com/ St James Bay is a neat site that also has a lot of hard-to-find replacement plane parts.
