I did a little searching and all I was able to come up with is that there are Camel pieces that can make special moves. Other than that the set looks to be just like a normal chess set. But I know nothing at all about chess, including not knowing how it is played
Here's what info I was able to find: Mexican Chess

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

Thanks for your attempts. I think some cactus and hats may be part of it. Harry

The board is 10 X 10 instead of 8 X 8. The camels and two extra pawns make up the extras. The camel moves like the knight but three forward and one across instead of two forward, one across like the knight. The pawns in the Mexican set can move one, two or three on the first move. They can only move one or twn in the trditional game. Seems to be some additinal restrictions on move and capture... I may have to actually read the instructions.

Nice web site... something to do when in a meeting and pretending to take notes.

DaveO, thanks for the chess site. I went to his main chess page and there are many variants of chess there. It's quite addictive.
