(1) I downed a dying red oak and didn't hit the house

(2) And I didn't hit any other trees

(3) And it didn't fall on me (to chagrin of loml )

(4) And I didn't have to pay someone $200-300

Also managed to acquire some direly needed firewood . . . it's been a cold winter and the tree is only 20ft from my firewood stack

Nah, I'm no Scott Smith nor Jeff . . . but reading some of their prior posts was very helpful in this endeavor.

Thanks NCWWer
Roger

Looks like there may be a table or a couple chairs hiding in there.

Mike brings up a question I've had rolling around in my head for a while. How do you tell the difference between lumber and firewood? The same trees are good for each purpose. I know you won't mill 6" diameter oak for lumber, but where is the line drawn?

Re: What I didn't do on Sunday

Wow, "landscaping" seemed to be a popular choice this past weekend. I didn't move two "Burning Bushes" from a friend's house to my front yard on Sunday. I did it on Saturday while listening to a most excellent Noon Football Whuppin', er "game".

On Sunday, I laid on the couch and begged the muscle gods for mercy on my poor hurtin' body.

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

The line is drawn at "what do I need this wood for?" (if the wood is good for both WW'ing and burning).

Re: What I didn't do on Sunday

Great job, timberjack!!

Hey, Could you cut some rounds off the butt end for Yoricks's cheese boards? My neighbor is procrastinating on cutting down the trees he promised me! (actually, he cut down one but the whole center was rotted out)

Go

Go
How thick? And I can't promise they will be parallel
Chainsaw is only 16" and the butt is a bit bigger.

Most of the wood in this one is only "firewood" quality.

Don't know about timberjack, but afterward I was as hungry as a lumberjack

Re: What I didn't do on Sunday

Great job Roger LOML gets a little scared when I start my saw up - some of the trees are pretty close to the house - She is from Montana where there is WIDE open country and she would love for me to take all of our trees down not going to happen
