Tune Up Your Crosscut Sled

Quick video with a couple of good ideas. Everybody needs a "Stupid Block" on their sled.

Re: Tune Up Your Crosscut Sled

Agreed. I have a stupid block and still want to put my hand on it.

Re: Tune Up Your Crosscut Sled

That's a simple solution for the problem. I have seen many different designs, some of which are pretty elaborate, but this one looks pretty reasonable.

Re: Tune Up Your Crosscut Sled

Didn't watch the video, but is stupid block a blade cover? On sled, put a stop block on edge of left wing and a matching one on bottom side of sled that limits the travel of sled, so blade stays in blade gaurd block. You can substitute a bolt (drilled and tapped) in the edge of the wing.

Re: Tune Up Your Crosscut Sled

Stupid block is just a block to keep you from moving your thumb over the blade, but I call mine which does cover the blade on the outside a stupid block.
