Just finished this quilt rack. It's a Christmas present for my mother in-law. A friend of mine gave me the mahogany to build it with. I brought some rough lumber over to his shop to plane it. These were 10" wide boards, and I was'nt sure of the species at the time. Come to find out it was something he called river maple. kind of smelled musty when we planed it. Needless to say it wasn't what I was looking for to use on this project. My friend then "Hooked Me Up" with this awsome mahogany. I needed boards wide enough to glue up to 18" wide for the legs. I don't have any real big equiptment, YET! But I managed to do this with a table saw, 9" bandsaw, scroll saw, 10" drill press with drum sanding sleeves, and a router. Oh Yea! and my friend has a massive conveyor belt sander that I sent the glued up legs through.I finished it with sanding sealer and polyurethane. Anyways, it was a lot of fun and turned out nice.

I'm sure the MIL will love it.

She liked the design though,so I looked around for something that seemed similar, and found this at Meisel Hardware. I modified it a little bit, because the plan called for oak with decorative ornaments that were a little bit too much for this project.
Thanks for all the nice coments.
