I've been wrestling with posting this the last two days and am somewhat embarassed for doing so. I also know this is somewhat presumptuous given I have not been a member of this forum for very long. However, some of you know me from another forum and I am not posting this there because there are more local members here.

Here is my new shop.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j1...g/newshop2.jpg

The problem is it is not at my house. It is 16x24 and was posted on Craigslist last week, but I have to move it. My wife found the link and said buy it if you think it is a good deal. At the time, the seller had a crew to help and I had a guy from work who was supposed to help. My normal crew of family is either out of town or busy with other critical things. Well our help dried up this weekend. I have a day laborer coming today who may not be around next weekend. The seller and I got and I got everything out and the interior wall down. we also got the shingles off the roof and the porch roof and part of the porch is down. Today we work on the roof. Anyway, next weeked I'd need to have this down and and moved.

The jobsite is locatd in Chapel Hill off Airport Rd. If you are willing and able for next weekend, PM me for the particulars. I can promise beer or the beverage of your choice, lunch and lifetime shop priviledges if you live near Mebane.

Re: My New Shop and I Need Help

David, that is a pretty sweet shop! Unfortunately, I am approximately 2 hours away from your location, or I would happily volunteer to help. I am quite sure that no one here would consider it presumptuous of you to ask for assistance in any way, that is part of why this community based forum was started. Local guys and gals paying it forward.

Wish I was closer, Dave, I'd enjoy helping. That's a nice shop bud.

Re: My New Shop and I Need Help

Sorry for the delay in the reponse. Got home last night dog-tired and sick today.

Here is what it looks like now:

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j1...322_145826.jpg

This is after 3 days of work. I don't think I would have purchased this if I knew the seller's crew was not going to be available. They were there Friday but not Sat or Sunday. I expected to have them all weekend. I have some guys going out tomorrow or Wednesday and I will be back out there tomorrow night after work. I figure it will be one more day Saturday depending on how much gets done this week. Hopefully after the roof finally comes down it will go a little faster. We will see. My biggest worry is rain and keeping the insulation in the walls dry. I really don't want to have to pull all that sheathing off.

Re: My New Shop and I Need Help

David,

That's quite an undertaking, but you can do it. If you're worried about rain, Go buy a few tarps and tarp the roof until you're ready to move it. HTH and good luck.

Re: My New Shop and I Need Help

Dave, I suggest going to Harbor Freight and getting a large tarp. Looks like rain beginning tomorrow night thru the weekend. Sucks doesn't it?

Re: My New Shop and I Need Help

I have the tarp already and will put it on sometime tomorrow.

Oh yeah, the offer for lifetime shop privileges extends to whenever I get it home and start putting it back up. I am hoping that is infinitely more fun though.
