Hi All,

My two latest creations have found a home (for now) at Bev's Fine Art in North Raleigh.

The bigger one has a curly cherry top, tiger maple legs, birds-eye maple rails, walnut cross-pieces and ebony wedges in the through tenons. The smaller has a "flame birch" top (no, I've never heard of it either), walnut base, cherry cross pieces and pearwood wedges in the tenons.

I tried to get a picture of the flame birch unfinished outside, but the light was gone..but you can still see the curl in it.

Thanks for looking,

Don

Very cool, How did you make the top "float" over the base?

Thanks Dino,

I like the tiger maple better too..think I'll do another. The very first one with the cherry base was good too, but that was an especially beautiful piece of spalted birds-eye on top that really made the table.. It's fun thinking up new combinations.

Got any spectacular boards you would part with? Know a good place to find them??

Don
