My oldest daughter has been after me to build her a small table for her rear entryway hallway. 'A place where we can drop off our keys, purses and wallets when we come in', Daddy'!!!

I went through my small stash of red oak and came up with this.

It is built using 3/8" dowel pins for the apron to leg joinery and halfblind dovetails for the drawer. It stands about 30" high and has a 16" x 16" top. There is a very slight taper in the legs (insides) from about an 1 1/2 down to 1" square at the feet. It was finished with a very light coat of Minwax Pecan stain and four coats of wipeon poly.

Needless to say after doing tables for the past four projects, I am ready for something new.)

Thanks for looking!

Wayne

PS ......Scott and Jeff. My supply of red oak is starting to get real low!!!!

Good grain orientation!
Have any trouble tapering those legs?
Are you still making those Newfy DTs? I can't see them!
Good job, Wayne.

Great job! Very clean lines and wonderful proportion/grain orientation. What drawer runners did you use/make? And how did you attach the top? Great job friend.

A very pretty piece, Wayne -- it is delicate and graceful and the finish is perfect.

Re: Latest Project

Really sharp Wayne. The Pecan stain gives it a nice natural color.

Nice work there, Wayne. Did you build it from plans or just wing it?
Gotta love that RO!

Good job, Wayne.
Joe,

No problem with tapers when a guy uses the right jig!!!!! - Just like Joe's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Newfie DT's???

Why of course, laddy!!!! You know you love 'em.

I ended up with a false front on the drawer box, so I didn't want to show too much of the whole drawer.

Great job! Very clean lines and wonderful proportion/grain orientation. What drawer runners did you use/make? And how did you attach the top? Great job friend.
Michael,

You can probably see from these pictures that the drwer just rides on a wooden runner attached to the front and rear apron. You can just make out the figure eights in the second pic (top rear - inside) that I used to attach the top to the aprons.

Nice work there, Wayne. Did you build it from plans or just wing it?
Gotta love that RO!
Randy,

I pretty much just winged it to get the overall dimensions that my daughter was looking for. (I must admit that the book - "Illustrated Cabinetmaking by Bill Hylton" does help a lot too.)

Thanks for all of the nice comments everyone!!!!!

Wayne
