My youngest son, a college student, likes to use his laptop in bed at night. Each morning it is on the floor where he put it before dozing off.

I could just see it happening, a sleepy guy, getting out of bed and stepping on that expensive piece of hardware. The solution, a simple stand to go near the head of the bed where the laptop can be placed including a small drawer for accessories.

I guess it's not too terrible for a guy who much prefers the spinning stuff.
He likes it, so I guess that's all I needed to hear.

Great job Jim. What kind of wood did you use?

Re: Laptop Table

Trent,

Thanks for the complement.

The wood is leftover Brazilian Cherry flooring, and three pieces of good ole Red Oak in the top. I was fortunate (can't claim I'm that good) to be able to hide the fact that I used three pieces in the center and was able to match up the grain of the wood.

Re: Laptop Table

You did a great job of matching up those pieces of oak. Great looking table and very functional. I'm sure your son will really enjoy it.

Re: Laptop Table

Nice work, Jim!!

Little tables like these have a tendency to be well used for many different things.

I am sure it will be appreciated for a long, long time.
