If you haven't been keeping up with the building of the new shop you should at least take a good look at this.

Re: JC Campbell Blacksmith Shop

I can't wait until November, when I will be attending a turning class there for a week. I could plan my next 10 vacations at that place. Blacksmithing being one class I want to attend.

I don't get it though, an anvil out of wood? What are they planning on doing with it?

Re: JC Campbell Blacksmith Shop

The floor joists have anvils carved on each end. It's just a decorative touch to personalize the building.

Wow a lot of time and effort went into doing that. A great touch if you ask me.

Re: JC Campbell Blacksmith Shop

My wife and I were at the school yesterday, just looking around. We walked down to look at the blacksmith shop, and were amazed by the timberframe going up. I looks like you guys are going to have a great building there when it is done.
