I built Norm's and

I built the rolling clamp cart from the NYW series. The TWA library has a copy of this program in it. I am VERY HAPPY with the results. I will try to bring it to a future TWA meeting. One problem occured during construction. Norm shows attaching the horizontal members with glue and screws before the verticle supports are pocket screwed together. It is almost impossible to screw the upper members together with the horizontal parts in place. If you are building one, don't forget to leave the glue off the top horizontal members, until the uprights are screwed together.

Re: I built Norm's and

Bruce, make sure you bring the tape back to the TWA library so I can check it out during our next meeting. I look froward to seeing your completed clamp rack.

Re: I built Norm's and

One of the reasons for bringing to TWA is to get a picture posted. I don't have that capability. The tape in TWA library has writing on it that looks very much like mine. Don't know how it happened. Will make an extra copy for use though. Now that I ponder it, tape in library may not include this program, only miter saw bench and workshop hutch series. This program included the rolling assembly table and rolling clamp cart.

Hey Bruce,

Thanks for the comment on Norm's rack. Hints and tips like that are a big part of why we're all here. I particularly appreciate this b/c I intend to build some of Norm's workshop fixtures.

The clamp battle is never won! At best it is a draw. But it is nice to be able to get one clamp without ten others falling on you. Or even better to actually see the clamp you want without having to dig through a pile. Ironically with all the Bessies, jorgy "F" clamps, pipe clamps, screw clamps, "C" clamps, spring clamps, I most often use the 6" Quick clamps. If you need screw clamps, check Northern Tool as they have them for $5-8 each. Made in CHINA, but a decent quality. I built a bunch of screw clamps once, but no more.
