Well, hoping this will be the one....found accidently through correspondence of a friend of a friend on CL. Looks good through the pics, price is right, so unless I'm missing something this baby is coming to my workshop Tuesday morning. Think it will fit in the back of a Jeep Grand Cherokee?????

If the price is "right" it'll either fit in the back or on top! Nice score!

Sweet, I was just using mine today. I thought of you as I was having some problems with burning on a soft Maple panels. Probably user error You can easily take the machine off it's stand and pull the in/out feed tables off and it will fit easily in the back of your SUV.
Are you gonna gloat about the price????

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

I will probably encounter a lot of user error...have never used one at all and hear they can be tricky! Hope I'll actually make use of it. Bought a RAS a while back, already wish I hadn't...just not for me and I don't have the space for something I'm not gonna use. Probably list it sometime! This sander looks good in the pics and the owner certainly is a nice fellow on the phone anyway, 71 year old retiree! We'll see, but I am really hyped! Wish I could go tomorrow, but have prior commitments....killing me to have to wait until Tuesday morning. If I bring it home I'm sure I'll have some questions. I like that the fact that this one is from a hobbyist that hasn't used it very much. Has the stand, infeed and outfeed, casters, extra paper, etc.and for only $?00.00. Wonder if my 1hp Delta Dust Collector will handle it?

Thanks for the answer Fred, I also have a JDS Air Cleaner and a Jet Air cleaner, hopefully they will help until I can upgrade my dust collection equipment. Will the sander pull any more amps than my Dewalt planer. Sometimes when I'm running the planer and the dust collector, it will trip my breaker. Definitely need to add more power to the shop.

That will be a great score! Enjoy. Hopefully I'll run across a deal on one in the future.

I think it does pull more amps then the planer. You might have some problems.

Maybe that will finally get me moving and get an electrician out here and get it wired right. Moved from a 12X16 hobby shop and took my whole 3 car garage. Now I have a little over 700 sq. ft. but I think every bit of the wiring is on just 2 circuits shared with the main house. And the box is full. Plus, I want 220! So, my next project needs to be some wiring done. I usually run the dust collector on 1 wall and plug the machine into another plug that was separate for the freezer. Whoa's me! What's a poor man to do!

Congratulations. You'll love having a drum sander. I have a 22-44" and Jet 1 HP dust collector. I only use a 10' section of hose and it works well to collect the dust. Right now I only have one 20 amp circuit in my shop and I can easily trip the breaker. Pretty obvious since the sander si capable of drawing 20 amps on it;s own.
I'm glad to see that you go the I/O tables as well. Enjoy!!

what i have found on my sander and DC is the airborn dust gets sucked up ok but there is always dust that collects on the feed belt and falls on the floor as it runs. it doesnt bother me much and thats why i havent upgraded yet. also noticed that thr performax only has 1 dust port. that may make it suck better than my double stack. enjoy!

Fred, I have the same thing happen as you and I have a 3 HP cyclone. I think it is less an effect of the dust collection but more a nature of the beast. At least on my 22-44 I think the dust collection is pretty bad. Yours may be a better set up than mine, and Redhawk's definitely is nicer!
