I tried the incra system on finger joints as soon as I unpacked it but now things are a bit more settled and I had the time to try dovetails with some poplar.

It took several tries to get a good joint, refining my techniques and learning to keep the wood either square or flat to the table and getting the depth of cut just right. I don't think it will be very hard the next time. I also have problems following directions, since I always know just what to do. Not!

Anyway, it worked out pretty well, except in my opinion with the glue and finishing. I am not yet happy with that process and I know I have a lot of work to do before I am.

Nice job. I also have an Incra system on my router table. I really like it. You can't beat having a nice fence and not having to buy other stuff to make dovetails and box joints.

Again good job.

Re: First Incra Dovetails

Very nice, especially for the first ones. The Incra is nice, but it will definitely have you scratching at least your head, till the methodology becomes clear.
