Here is a picture of a Maple, Cherry, and Walnut Cutting Board I just finished. It is 12 inhes wide and 20 inches long. I used walnut oil and bee's wax to finish it.

Re: Cutting Board

I guess burning in a signature or inscription would be appropriate in this case.

Re: Cutting Board

I was just woundering about what type of glue you use to make a cuting board... Does it have to be food safe or do you just use some type of waterproof glue and sand it down. Also do you put a finish on it???? If so what type of finish. I've been wanting to make one just dont know the answers to these questions.

Re: Cutting Board

I have found that Titebond III or TB II to be great glues for cutting boards, and you will sand off any squeeze out before you "finish" it. I recommend Mineral Oil as a finish, but check out this thread for more info.

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

Re: Cutting Board

I used titebond III and finished it with walnut oil and beeswax. The walnut oil will penetrate and harden and the beeswax helps to make it water repellent.
