Here is a picture of a Maple, Cherry, and Walnut Cutting Board I just finished. It is 12 inhes wide and 20 inches long. I used walnut oil and bee's wax to finish it.

Re: Cutting Board

Great looking blend of woods you got there! I am sure that the recipient will cherish it for a long while! (Sorry...I just assumed it was for someone other than yourself. )

Re: Cutting Board

Another great job. I like the wood combination also. Well, lets see! We could trim the steak on the cutting board before using the salt & pepper mills (starting to see a pattern here!).

Re: Cutting Board

Nice looking cutting board Alan. Did you put any sort of feet on the bottom side of it?

Re: Cutting Board

No feet on it at this time. Do you think that would add to it's looks? What type of feet do most use rubber or wood?

Re: Cutting Board

Rolly, I like to use the clear rubber bumper for computer or stereo eqiup. They are about 3/8" thick 1/2" square and I scrape off the original adhesive and use thick CA glue to set them on the board. They give a nice, non-slip surface, but also allow you to trim them down if your board doesn't sit totally flush with the counter DAMHIKT
Beautiful board BTW, love the color of the Walnut

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

Re: Cutting Board

Nice Alan!

Did you plane it or sand before finishing?

Re: Cutting Board

I like the cutting board...nice job!

My vote is for no feet...then you can cut on one side that is used for cutting and the other side used for show when it's sitting out/hanging on a wall/etc...

Re: Cutting Board

Thanks, I like chopping up deers myself. They make for some mighty fine eating. Good idea to chop on one side and show the other.

Re: Cutting Board

That's a beautiful board with some nice contrast of color and grain. It's so pretty I bet she isn't gonna want to cut anything on it!

I vote for no feet because you can chop on one side and show the other side. How about your name?
