I had some cherry that was harvested from my homesite that was just shy of 3/4 so I planed it to 5/8ths. Then had to figure out what to do with it. I had plans for a Chippendale cradle that called for 5/8ths, so I went ahead and did the below cradle.

The finish is honey amber dye, Seal Coat 1lb shellac, Minwax Cherry gel stain as a toner, Seal coat 1lb sealer and then 4 coats of satin wipe on poly.

Nice job Dan. One more thing to do, make a plack for it, and every child that uses it has their name inscribed on the plack. In my experience these things get passed from family to family. A young neighborhood passes it around as the children arrive.

Beautiful cradle, Dan. Should provide lots of ZZZZZZZZ's for more than one little one.
