Finally got a rountuit and put finish on a gift box. Padauck and figured cherry from Rick (Woodworking Source). A Woodsmith mag design that was enlarged for a jewelry box/wedding gift. Hopefully I learned from my finishing mistakes.

Re: Cherry box

I like several design features of your work:
- the raised sides with the upper grooves
- the rounded (coopered?) lid.

All that is in addition to your material selection and finish.

Nice work

Henry

Re: Cherry box

Wow,

That is one good looking box you made there. The Cherry's figure sure looks good!

Also I am trying to figure out if the lid is curved in the inside as well? Is it?

Anyway Very Very Nice!

Re: Cherry box

The lid is from a single board, not coopered. Top is rounded, flat inside. I do not remember the issue but will get specifics tonight, this year though. It was published as a smaller phone/change pocket catch all size. I enlarged the design and added the interior trays. We'll see how the wood movement affects the lid??

Re: Cherry box

Sharp looking box! I might "borrow" a few design elements from that!
