There has been discussion on another thread about possibly having another North Carolina Woodworker get together. I think a location somewhere betwixed Raleigh and Charlotte would be a good location unless there are other suggestions. It looks like Asheboro would be a good midpoint.

Suggested date:
January 20th
January 27th
February 3rd

Does anyone know of places to eat in Asheboro? I will do some checking also.

I actually prefer Western. I'm not a big fan of the vinegar based bbq. Although I've found that most places actually have both sauces.

I haven't put in a date because one day is as good as the others. I'll try to make it which ever day is picked.

I didn't vote, but will make every effort to attend. Since I'm retired and LOML still works I usually let her call the shots on my weekends.

Don't forget about the MWTCA meet in Hillsborough on Jan 13th. It's a handtool expo that everyone should attend at least once. And there's ample opportunity to browse tools and chat.

Re: NCWW Winter Gathering

Hey guys and dolls. I'm checking in from the land of the half-dead. 2006 really sucked for me and 2007 isn't starting off any better. Heart stent, 3 catarac surguries, and then I had to have surgery on my LEFT thumb (of all things I'm left handed). I have a cast up to my elbow which will stay on until the middle of Feb. But, hey, I'm not complaining or looking for sympathy, just wanted to let you folks know why you haven't heard from Mayberry in a while.
As to a get-together, I would LOVE to! Any of the dates suggested will do for me, sine there is little else I can do. But count me in on whatever works for the rest.
Hope all of you had a great Xmas. I got a new 7 hp air compressor and a friend ran all the lines for me. I don't use air compressors for finishing, but I sure do love air sanders, drills, impact wrenches, etc. Now I have something that will keep up with them.
Keep us posted.

I'd vote for the Expo too. I think I'll have time to go before I leave for China.

Re: NCWW Winter Gathering

Just got my mailing from Expo today. Looks like they won't be back in Greensboro til 2009. Says they are going to alternate between Greensboro and the NoVa/DC area. 2008 there, 2009 here etc etc.

I vote for the TSI date. What about pre-regristration for the show?

Re: NCWW Winter Gathering

Well, if we are going to have it on the TSI date, why don't we have it in Greensboro since that's where folks will be anyway?

G'boro would also be about halfway. If we meet there I vote for Smoky Bones to Chow down at!
