I have no idea. I transplanted here about 5 years ago. You will notice the lack of accent. Or should I say you will notice the accent?

Re: Klingspor's Warehouse Sale in our Charlotte Location

Just found a review of the place online from Charlotteobserver.com. It's an old transmission shop converted to a BBQ restaurant. The review gives it good points for food and 'ambiance'. It's set up as a 'yuppie biker bar' motif, they say. Should be a treat.

OK, the sale is on for 2 days and you have all said that you will be there, but on which day? Maybe it means that you will be there both days?

Is the plan still noon at Mac's BBQ?

Going to Klingspor before or after or both?

Re: Klingspor's Warehouse Sale in our Charlotte Location

I'm planning on going as well with a bonus. I have 6 solid core doors that have been replaced on my project in Columbia. They are to be disposed of. There are 5 36" x 84" and 1 32" x 84" flush particle board doors. I plan to take my trailer to work tomorrow & bring these back to CLT. They have some veneer scratches but would make good table tops. They are heavy - about 125# each. If there is some interest I will bring them to Klingspoor with me and you guys can have them. First come, first served. No show & they go - with me or whoever wants one.

Wish I could make the gathering Sat but have a household with the flu! I do plan on stopping by Friday after I get back to NC. If I remember correctly the sale notice said 9-3? Have they changed their hours?

I'll do my best to get my pen either to the store or someone who'll be at lunch if I don't make it to lunch.

Re: Klingspor's Warehouse Sale in our Charlotte Location

I just happened to be in the neighborhood this afternoon so . . .

They don't really have all that much on sale. The glue and the hose for my P. Thein baffle weren't on sale. The Jet 48" clamp (in back of the pic) was $10.95 but they only had the one. They do have lots of the smaller Bessies for $8.95 and lots of pipe clamps (no pipe). The Miller dowel kit was good at $12.95 (Reg. $24.70) but they only had the mini size. They also have some books (mostly home DIY) and plans and kits.

Disclaimer: I didn't spend a whole lot of time there so I might have missed some things so your milage may vary.

Not sure if I'm going to make lunch tomorrow ... sick boy, so things are questionable at best. So don't wait on me (like you would anyway!)

Re: Klingspor's Warehouse Sale in our Charlotte Location

So what's the head count for lunch now? And does anyone need a door? If there's not any interest I'll just leave 'em here & let anybody come by that wants one.

Re: Klingspor's Warehouse Sale in our Charlotte Location

I'm still going and will most likely find something to bring home. I'll certainly be up for lunch. I'll be the guy in the green Ireland cap. Since I have not been to any gatherings yet, just give me a "hey".
As for the door, I have no room for another surface in my garage. I'm currently using one for my workbench and would highly recommend it to anyone going to use a solid core door for that purpose.
See you there.
Steve

Re: Klingspor's Warehouse Sale in our Charlotte Location

I'm still going to try to make it ... am looking forward to that BBQ!

Dennis - I don't need a door, so please don't bring one on my behalf. I am trying to clean out my stuff, not add to it! hehe I do, however need to get some of that turning wood from you one of these weekends!
