It really happened and was a dang good time. The beer and brats were exceptional, but the conversations and meeting of new friends is what really made it a hit.
In attendence was Tom (Toolferone), Eric (Cubicdissection), Roger (Sapwood), Mike (MikeL), Jimmy (JimmyC), Brian (Farmerbw), Travis (Travis Porter), Me (DaveO) and Josh (Titan04)

And pictures to prove it -

And for all that question..Yes Tom did wear his kilt, and his legs were very hot -

He was lucky not to be mistaken for one of the beautiful barmaids running around
Thanks to all that came out. It was great to hang with old friends (Roger I'm not just talking about you ) and get to meet some new ones...that will soon become old friends too

Dave

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

Sounds like you should have been there Have to remember I am in Cary too and you can get a DDD... I mean DD...

Anyway Travis is a bad influence with me with a 15" Grizzly planer on the way ... trying to make me still get a 12" jointer and not a 8" one

It was a great time as always. Thanks to Jimmy for driving and for entertaining us with a few good jokes. Maybe you can see if that club will let you do standup. BAMBAMM

Travis, after finally meeting you last night I was hoping to return home to find that my tools had all grown up and my table saw had started sliding.

It was certainly nice to meet some new members and revisit others. Good times.

I had a great time and would like to say it was great meeting everybody. Maybe we can do it again soon, but without Travis.

Re: Flying Saucer Gathering Dec. '08...

I had a very good time meeting some new folks and visiting with the ones I'd already met. The scenery, food, and beer didn't hurt either!

Oh yeah did I mention COLD BEER?!
Already looking forward to next time if it comes around.

Brian.

Well, I must say I am impressed that no one has made a kilt comment yet. I guess you all are still stunned by my great legs.

I also had a great time! Nothing better then cold beer, hot wings and GREAT COMPANY!

Re: Flying Saucer Gathering Dec. '08...

Tom, I was just thankful that it was not as short as the one the server was wearing!

We should really do that more often. I love the Saucer, but it would be nice to find a second meeting place that has great beer and a more quiet atmosphere. I wanted to hear more about Eric's automated tools, Dave's elves, Josh's also being 30, and oh yes....Tom's kilt. Looking forward to next time.
