Directions to the facility are - I-26 to exit 37 - Long Shoals Road/NC 146. Turn WEST onto Long Shoals cross the river. (its maybe 100 yards from the interstate). The Klingspor extravaganza in Hickory is also in October and we always have presence their. I don't know yet what the dates are.

Is there any fishing in that part of the French Broad. I've heard it's cleaned up and has some pretty good fish in some places. Count me in if I can slip off.

I'm guessing it stopped with a conflict with the Klingspor Extravaganza in Hickory. They have been a significant supporter of this group, and this event is a pretty major event. Is there any way we can do the mountain one a different weekend (when we know what weekend that would be)?

That came out wrong. Poor wording I suppose on my part. Like I wrote much earlier, these sort of things are not my strong points.
There is a POTENTIAL CONFLICT with a Klingspore event.
They have not posted their date.
Sort of hard to go ahead with a lot of pig pickin plans when dealing with a lot of unknowns.
I have the facility reserved for the second Saturday and Sunday in October. I have a pig cooker and help lined up. I'm planning on having a pig pickin then. If it conflicts with another event, I understand and I'm sorry about that.
Worst comes to worst I'll have me a big old party for two!
If anyone wants to come 'unofficially' and needs reservations for accomodations, there is going to be some food available Saturday.
Certainly not trying to undermine any other event that might or might not be on the same date. |

Well I'm planning on coming - So I guess it'll be a party for three I usually hit the logging / sawmill shows but not Klingspor or woodcraft events - as a matter of fact - I've never even stepped foot inside one of those stores... I know I'm bad aren't I?
Thanks

I flat sawed a little 16"er last weekend and I was thinking I might use that one for flooring in a walk in closet after I tear out the carpeting since it's flat sawed.
Thanks

The times I've attended the Klingspor event it seemed to be the last full weekend in October.
Perhaps someone could ask their Kiingspor contacts so we can plan accordingly. |

The Klingspor event has always been the last weekend of the month of October and probably won't change (that would make it October 25th and 26th) -- I sent a PM to Andrew this morning that I'd contact Klingspor to find out so his plans can proceed. We'll get this sorted out so we can have both events!
