Post Charlotte Turn-n-Learn

Well, it's been way too long since our last "turn-n-learn" but it hasn't been forgotten! So let's plan another! I'll offer up my lathes and chisels for use along with my shop, and we can bring in some food and enjoy an evening turning and learning. The weather is right so let's take advantage of it! We will just need to pick a date that works for a several people, then we'll go with it. In the past we've met around 6pm and turned until about 9pm.

Location: WoodWrangler's shop
(in east Charlotte - I will PM my address to those confirmed before the date)

Date/Time : Tuesday, Nov 4 at 6:00PM (3hr?)

Topic : Turning a Peppermill (while drinking a beer)
Instructor: Ed Nelson

I'd love to make that. Narrow down a date and I'll see if I can.

Nov 4th would be my preference.

Re: Charlotte Turn-n-Learn

As far as I know I'm open for any of those dates. So whatever works best for you and Ed.

But the location? Can't we just move your lathe into an empty garage so I'm not tempted by all your toyls?

I might can do Nov. 4th. I might have a system Go Live that day but if that doesn't happen I can plan on being there. I have wanted to see how to do a pepper mill.

Of course not ... the more the merrier. If we want to get both lathes turning because someone else wants to try it ... we can do that too.

Re: Charlotte Turn-n-Learn

Schedule has me IN TOWN on the 4th....I can make it....Put me down and let us know what to bring. Food? Goggles? Beer? Ed?

Would you like me to bring a few pieces of that red tip just to see what it looks like? It'll only be about 4" diameter and fresh cut.

Thanks Jeremy.

Looks like my calendar is clear on the 4th! I'd love to join in on the fun Jeremy! Thanks for offering your home shop as a gathering place.

I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone there

Re: Charlotte Turn-n-Learn

Looks like we have an event! Let's firm up as Nov 4 at 6pm as a starting time -- sound good?

Ed - Let's you and I talk about how this will work out. I know the Peppermills can take a while, so maybe we can prep some stuff ahead of time to save time.

Everyone else ... we can order some food at my place. Bring $5 and we'll pool out money together and get pizza and wings, or something. I hear the grease is a good Peppermill finish. As for drinks, if you have a favorite ... bring it. Otherwise, I'll stock some drinks (soda, beer, water) in preparation.
