No, that was Billy Joel. And he got it wrong. They don'e mine coal here (or didn't) they made steel. BTW they are filming the opening sequence for the new Transformer movie here at the old Bethleham Steel Factory right now.

Everyone hosting replied that July was ok with them (except Nelsone, who was silent on this issue). I originally listed dates that were on Sundays. In view of religious commitments I think Saturday might work better, and that was my original intention.
The shops are:
PeteQ;
Nelsone;
Shuneverno1;
Pete Mohr;
WoodWrangler;
Tdhetrick; and
GordonMT
With Badabing a possible late addition if his address works well with the flow.
Woodcraft has been suggested as a stop/ place where lunch can be done. I am not sure if it fits in well with the flow. One other concern is with 7 or 8 shops to visit, do we want to go to WC since time is limited? Besides, we might lose one or two crawlers there. (might be a good or bad thing .gif) ).
Give me your feedback asap please. Lunch suggestions are welcome especially near Pete Mohr or Woodwrangler's shops as those are the most likely middle of the crawl locations.
I suggest starting at 9 AM at the latest.
Doug

As for lunch, there is a little place not too far from my house called Panda's Den. It's locally owned (by a funny little guy) and usually fairly quick (though we might want to give a heads up just in case). If it's not obvious, that is Chinese food.
Another option is I could have food brought in to my house and we could just grab a bite to each when we get there. Maybe some BBQ or burgers.
A third option ... is to eat while near Woodcraft (about 8 miles from my house). There are plenty of restaurants down there ... including the already mentioned Showmars -- or there is also Azteca mexican, CiCi's pizza, Firehouse subs, and up the road a little more Ruby Tuesday. |

It might be hard to estimate the timing for lunch thereby complicating lunch at your place. Thanks for the generous offer.
Maybe one or more of the places near WC would work best. That way people can choose the food they want if we give them the options. That way we also will not overwhelm any one place. Want to post a list of potential places?

I think it's only myself, Amy and Bobcat Bob that are over this way, so doubt a crawl is in order.

We are starting in Fuquay-Varina and heading east. Holly Springs, Garner, Clayton and Raleigh itself (MikeL's). I have not set this date yet.
I would consider a western crawl if there are enough shops to group together.

The June 14 date was going to be just the excuse I needed to weasel out of a family thing I really want to miss. Oh well.
July 19 should be just fine. Are we going to try and do any car pooling? Since I do not know anyone it would be a good chance to "share", you will never know how much I hate that word . The less time spent on eating the better as far as I am concerned. I really hope to learn from others shops.
Thanks for setting all this up. It really does take a lot of time and effort. |

Right by my place (less than a mile) is a Wolfman Pizza, Mama Fu's, and some fast food places.
Wolfman would be my choice as the have an excellent selection of beverages

Since I live in Raleigh, I am going to have to leave the arrangement of car pools up to you locals. I hope to attend as well and may carpool with my host. I would recommend posting here if you are interested in driving together.
I hope lunch is no more than 45 minutes. But that may depend on the place(s).

That doesn't sound bad. Can you send me the address of Wolfmans?
