User Titles are being played with. They may disappear and re-appear as something that has no meaning. Please be patient.

The problem is that we have always used the term "Member". Unfortunetly, that term will have to be reserved for members of the Corporation. Will you have the opportunity to become Members of the Corporation? YES. But how, has not yet been decided.

You certainly can provide an opinion in this thread, if you wish. If fact you opinions and ideas on this subject will be appreciated. Advisory Panel, please DO NOT post here, but in the AP forum.

OK, what does being a member get you? Over simplistic. The right to vote for the Board of Directors and with enough votes of members, oust any Director or all of them. In other words, you can by your votes set the direction and policies of North Carolina Woodworker, Inc. and through it, this web site

How do I get the honor of showing up as "deceased" on the status?

Let your wife find out how much you really spent on tools. The deceased status will be automatic from that point.

There's two kinds of people in the world. Those that divide people into two groups, and those that don't.

To replace member, we could have "registered user" (as opposed to those who are "guests"), but that's kind of pointless...since guests can't post. I'd vote for a status that indicates level of weirdness, but I doubt we can agree on a scale.

I like the idea of being a Member of the corporation and contribute to everything that is North Carolina Woodworker. But, no reason for that to show up on the web site, that's more "status" symbol. I think we covered that when donations were discussed.

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

She does know!

That is why I catch as much grief from her as I do.

Don't give me no title! Every time they give somebody at work a title they get fired in about 6 months!
I'll just stay a peon if ya don't mind - an employed one!

On my other board, we just have Donating Member, and it's blank for those that don't donate. Donating members get to have an avatar, get to customize their title, get picture hosting, and access to a private, non-moderated section and get more PM space. Non donating members just get to post.

Does this mean we will have some kind of initiation - scenes from animal house are coming back - maybe you have to be able to hand cut dovetails or something

I think we should try for something simpler. Like gluing your fingers together with CA glue If you've done that, please raise both hands.

(how come you always get me so far off topic?)

Boosters[quote=Bas;174066]
My son is in a HS Band, the wife and me go to the Band Boosters meetings, we can do very thang but vote! If we want to vote we must pay $10. each. But in order to vote on the stuff Steve talked about in the first post we may have to have "status".

Just my .02

I understand what you are saying about Status as it applies to those who are able to help in some way (in my case a small way) in maintaining this site. I do (and would continue to) object to "purchased" status. There are many levels of economic status here and I would hate to see anyone left out solely due to their economic situation.
