Sounds good to me, I would not want us to ever lose our "local" flavor which is what makes this board different from all the others .

Sounds good to me also. I have noticed that most of the out of state requests that are approved do not seem to hang around very much, but do add a lot to the site.

I think that the site policy is fair and good, the staff has done a good job keeping this site local, as we are more than cyberspace. The foreigners that have joined have been a good addition.

Hello everyone.

As a non-resident of NC I hope that I will be grandfathered in and remain a member. Became a member back when the old photo site was closed down. Although I do not live in NC; I visit this site almost daily. I have learned more from the great and knowledgeable folks from this site then any other site a frequent.

I do not post as much as many because my typing skills leave a lot to be desired. I type minute per word instead of words per minute. I do sometimes make short comments just so you all know I still here. And sometimes post projects that I have made.

It took me at least 15 minutes to make this post as I first type everything in Word so I can do a spell check then copy and paste to this forum.

Thanks for a great site.

PS: I have a sister that lives in Warne. If that count?

I like the policy and believe it is a very important part of who we are. Being mostly local provides us with more than a cyber-community, but a real one. We are able to get togetherand to help one another. The pony express, the picnic, the crawls all would not be possible without the policy.

The exceptions are worthwhile. Many good contributors are out of state. As Tracy stated most do not stay long after approval. The ones that do stay, like bluewing92, have something to add.

I wouldn't hange a thing.

Steve,

Once you're in, you can never get out, it's kind of like the mafia . Keep on posting and you're one of us.

Good statement, Steve. It should clarify things for some of those we need to turn away.

I agree!...it makes the board different because the lot of us are neighbors and respect one another.

For those of you who are here, but are not NC residents, I am glad you guys are here...I think with this policy, we have mostly neighbors and a few good people who we wish were our neighbors. It affords us some amount of control, however, to maintain the spirit of the board that we currently have and desire. I for one can say that BlueWing has inspired me with his bandsaw boxes which has helped with some of my projects....
