First off, thanks go out to everyone that entered in this contest. There are some very talented people here. Give yourself a pat on the back. Judging this contest was very hard. The judges debated... consulted with wives... debated some more. Changed opinions, struggled and complained how hard it was to pick from the list of entries. Then we narrowed the list to 10, then 5.

Judging was based on quality, uniqueness, general cool factor of the gift, ease of construction and overall final product appearance.

The reason we are posting places 1-5 is so we can be sure the prize is awarded. In the event that the 1st place winner cannot take delivery of the prize, it will fall to 2nd place and so on down the line.

Again, thanks to everyone for making this contest, in my opinion, a great success! Without further rambling from myself. Here is the finalists:

5th place goes to Mike Davis's Turned mallet.

4th place goes to Cathy's (cskipper) Dove on the moon.

3rd place goes to Jeremy's (gotojeremy) Serving trays.

2nd place goes to Chris's (wsd1089) Bottlestopper collection.

1st place goes to Jon Todd's (jtodd71) Cutting Boards!

Clay ain't kidding. This was a difficult contest to judge. Every entry was excellent and would make wonderful gifts.
Thanks to everyone that entered and congratualtions to all the winners.

Honestly Honey, that will cost around $100 $150 $200, and I need a few more tools.

Wow! Thanks a lot, guys! That is a huge compliment! I cannot believe the talent that was displayed in the contest and am so honored to have even been considered!!!

Congratulations, Jon! It looks like you will have your fair amount of sawdust with those complex cutting boards...the shop vac will be put to good use! The boards look like a great project!

Regards,
Chris
