It appears we can do a "Make Your Own Pen" Audience Participation on both days. The ideas, we will have kits, blanks, etc. Someone will pick out a kit, blank, and with one of us giving guidance, let them make a pen and then keep it for themselves.

I'll be bringing all the supplies necessary except for the Drill Press which will be provided by Klingspor.

The people who will be allowed to do this will be:

First Priority - Non-North Carolina Woodworker members who have not made a pen.
Second Priority - North Carolina Woodworker members who not made a pen.
Third Priority - North Carolina Woodworker members who are signed for the time slot and are just waiting for a victim

Ideally, one of our members who at least has turned a few pens will be available throughout the day, to take someone through the making of the pen. So below is a signup sheet. Please take an hour or 2.

Friday:
9:30 - 10:30
10:30 - 11:30
11:30 - 12:30
12:30 - 2:00
2:00 - 3:00
3:00 - 4:00
4:00 - 5:00
Saturday:
9:30 - 10:30
10:30 - 11:30
11:30 - 12:30
12:30 - 2:00 - OUR LUNCH
2:00 - 3:00
FYI, for obvious reasons, all non-North Carolina Woodworker members will be required to wear a full face shield. I'll bring 2

Re: Make your own pen

Steve,

I have some pretty nice, unsold, pen blanks that I can bring/donate. They are curly/tiger maple, curly pecan, air dried walnut. I have about 40. Shall I bring them? I will bring them Friday early if you want them.

Re: Make your own pen

Steve,

I was going to offer to lug my 12" Delta benchtop drill press, but it sounds like you've got it covered by Klingspor -- I can still bring it if you want. Just let me know by Thursday.

I will be there all day both days and will be staying overnight at the Red Roof Inn nearby. Is anyone else beside you and Gail staying overnight? Do you guys have dinner plans?

Re: Make your own pen

I could send some of those cumala blanks up by Tracey if you'd like. I may be able to attend a short while on Friday.

Re: Make your own pen

In answer to your questions, I have plenty of blanks. So thank you all for your offer..

Pen kits - I have 12 slimline kits that I am bringing.

I can NOT find my barrel trimmer kit. I'll see if I can buy one, but if you are coming friday morning and have one, please bring it, thanks
