Gathering of NC Woodworkers to follow (further details TBA). Be sure to mark your calendars and set aside time for this event! Start making carpool plans now! We had a great time in previous years! (click to see pics from the 2005 and 2006 Extravaganzas!)
We're still finalizing plans, but Klingspor has once again graciously offered plenty of space for our gathering. There will be plenty of room to show off our work and run some demonstrations (woodturning, scrollsawing, or maybe something else... we're open to ideas & suggestions!). And on Saturday we'll have a nice room to gather together for fellowship and some more of that great BARBECUE!
Once again, in an effort to obtain a reasonable estimate of how many will attend this event, please reply in this thread if you plan to attend. If you can, plan to bring a few projects along to show off!
See you there! | | Views: 4038 |

Name: Wayne City: Morganton State: NC County: Burke Join Date: Aug 2007 Age: 52 Avg Visit Freq/Week = 6.92 over 180 days | Made it to the show today around 11:00 and was completely astonished at the attendance! The Parking lot was nearly full! Made the rounds and drooled all over the goodies! Met several very nice members at the North Carolina Woodworker booth and bought me a hat, a mug and a bumper sticker! Stayed almost until closing! Looked to be very successful to me. Wonder if my wife will let me go back tomorrow. I sure would have liked to spend more time in the North Carolina Woodworker booth watching the pen turning! Thanks to everyone that made the show possible! I had a blast, now if my legs will quit aching and I can forget about all that Powermatic Equipment that I had to leave without! |

I had a really great time today - met lots of folks, some members, some not. Thanks to everybody who organized it. I think we created some interest in the site and sent at least 2 members down the slippery slope. Add that to good food and it adds up to a fun day. Thanks for letting me participate in the demos.

We got to put some faces/personalities with the avatars. Thanks for the demos Cathy, Dave, Clay and Chris. You guys really attracted some interest to our little corner of the show. The food was good (BBQ is always good, right?) but the best part was the gathering of friends. Hope to do it again next year! |
