Klingspor Extravaganza Woodworking Show

Friday Oct 26 & Saturday Oct 27, 2007

More details at Klingspor's Web Site

Hickory Metro Convention Center
Hickory, NC
(directions here)

Gathering of NC Woodworkers to follow (further details TBA). Be sure to mark your calendars and set aside time for this event! Start making carpool plans now! We had a great time in previous years! (click to see pics from the 2005 and 2006 Extravaganzas!)

We're still finalizing plans, but Klingspor has once again graciously offered plenty of space for our gathering. There will be plenty of room to show off our work and run some demonstrations (woodturning, scrollsawing, or maybe something else... we're open to ideas & suggestions!). And on Saturday we'll have a nice room to gather together for fellowship and some more of that great BARBECUE!

Once again, in an effort to obtain a reasonable estimate of how many will attend this event, please reply in this thread if you plan to attend. If you can, plan to bring a few projects along to show off!

See you there!

I will be attending hopefully with the LOML If I can dig out of these boxes I will make some pen blanks. More on that as the event comes closer

We're just a couple of weeks away from the big show!!! I can't wait - it'll be great to get to see everyone again. I think I'll bring my lathe so we can turn some pens - maybe just to give out at the show or something. Anything for a little "activity" to bring attention to our group.

Of course, the lunch on Saturday will be great... I'll have to go through this thread to get a rough idea of the head count - anybody else coming? All are welcome, as always.

See ya there!!!

Jeremy, if you car pool with someone be sure to have enough storage space for your purchases!

Name tags would be cool - I'll see if I can throw together something that looks nice!

Also, who wants to do a demo, or just spend some time doing something in the booth? I plan to bring my midi-lathe again, along with some pen-turning supplies. We could easily turn pens again just for the fun of it, or if anyone wants to learn how to get started in pen turning this would be a great opportunity to get some hands-on practice!

Well, I'm counting down the days till the show! Just hope I can find a little extra change to be able to buy some goodies! Still using outa the first box of scrap sandpaper that I bought many years ago at one of the past shows. I know I'll be there Friday early and can't wait to meet all our members!

Will the NCWWers area be marked? For those of us that have'nt met that many of the "club".We might not know where we are. Like I posted I'm going to do my best to be there on Sat.I'm looking foward to the pen demo! And I might bring a couple of my sticks. That is if the 3 NCWWers that have seen them think there any good?

I'll be there on Saturday with my 10 year old son. He's wants to get started in woodturning and is really looking forward to the pen demo.
