John,

If black and white is fine I can print whatever you guys want on regular bond. It can be 30"x whatever, and the good part is its free. I know i'll be in Hickory before the show so I could drop them off to you so that you have them for the start of the show as well.

Any interest in setting up a lathe or two to make some pens for the troops? If so, the deadline for this effort could be extended until after the show weekend.

Woodguy and I could each provide a midi lathe and a grinder. If there is an interest then we could set up some blanks so they're ready to go. The way I see this, we would need volunteers to provide a presence in our room throughout the day on Saturday anyway. This would be a good gathering point throughout the day and would potentially draw some attention to our cause.

If we have enough interest, we'll make it happen.

I think I answered this on some post - maybe need to consolidate the threads. I think it would be great!

I think there is some interest in turning pens, and John and I can supply the lathes, grinder, turning tools, as well as some blanks and kits. The only thing we would need is for people to volunteer to be there for maybe an hour or two throughout the day... this way our stuff won't be left unattended and we may actually attract some innocent bystanders to our club!

I will start off by volunteering to be there from 9 am to 11 am. I could certainly use some company and/or guidance, so it would be nice if someone else would be there too so we can run both lathes. We would just need a few more people to volunteer their time (and state what time block they want to be there) and we will go with this plan.

Coleman will arrange for us to get food through the Metro catering. I need to get a firm number of who will be there on Saturday so we can arrange it. I'm with Monty. We'll figure out how to pay for it ahead of time so we don't have to charge per head.

Pete, are we good for you making the banner?

The Room is firm. We also want folks to bring work and display their stuff. This is as much about promoting the website as it is a get together.

Monty, I think we may need to break this off as a sticky to make sure folks realize we are firming up plans.

Thanks,

John

Hey John,
I can run the banner (actually a poster) anytime. Monty suggested blowing up Steves flyer. Let me know if this is OK.

I'll be there on Saturday but we need to figure out how to get the poster and some other freebee's I have there earlier.

Thanks Pete - I think that poster will look fine and will suit our needs. We'll find a way to get it from you.

Thanks Cathy - we should pair you up with someone who is less experienced so you can show them how to crank out pens like Clay's gonna show me!

I'll be there all day Saturday, but I am not a turner. Count me in for the catered lunch. Rob
