Does anybody rent time on their wide belt sander or run stuff through for a fee? I posted an ad in the "services wanted" section of the classifieds.

Ben, if you are ever up that way, The Hardwood Store in Gibsonville has a wide belt sander, and lots of other equipment, they can sand it for you for a fee. Since moving to the coast I really miss being able to take my large slabs to them to surface. Their phone number is 888-445-7335.

Hill Country Woodworks has used their wide belt sander on a couple projects of mine. The fee is $40/hr but one project they sanded 12 sides from 80-180 grit in 15 minutes. It cost me $10 and they operated the machine. There's no way I could ever justify buying one. The retail store is in Chapel Hill and the number is in the phone book. The woodworking shop is located outside Chapel Hill.
