Re: Stand for Miniature Birdhouses

i recenty ppiced up some 1/16 stainles steal for another project. 3' sticks of mig/tig welding rod. they also had other diamiters also brass brazing rod, aluminun ext.

try under welding suplies in your local yellow pages.

btw 100 3' sticks cost me about $40, it would be a life time supuly for most crafts uses.

Re: Stand for Miniature Birdhouses

If you don't want to make them, most pottery barns and craft stores have them.

Re: Stand for Miniature Birdhouses

Craft Supplies has an assortment of ornamental holders.

They won't hold the bird houses I make. So ordered some 3/32" x 12" long solid brass rod from HobbyLinc.com 1-888-327-9673 last Apr. Had to make my own wood base.

Got 16 pieces Product number K+S 163 for $9.19 + shipping.

They have other sizes & lengths if you need them.

http://www.hobbylinc.com

Just do a search for wire and rod.

Only complaint have with rod I got, looks like coat hanger wire. Also the labels glued on each rod a real PITA to take off. Easy to bend around little jig I made by hand though.

Re: Stand for Miniature Birdhouses

If you want to add birds to your ornaments have a look at:

http://www.craftsetc.com

Ordered a bunch of Mini Mushroom Bird Stem Sku #618009, get 6 per pack for $1.99 + shipping.

These birds come with wire, to wrap around perch, still end up gluing them with CA to stay put. I drill a hole, still end up wrapping wire & gluing with CA glue. I snip off excess wire.

They have other birds & sizes.

Even with shipping found them cheaper than Michaels here in town.
