Anybody have a machine-shop in the Fuquay/south Wake co. area to recommend ?

I have several small jobs begging for some basic machining:
- need the OD on a sheave turned down
- need a hub re-welded to a rim
- need an adapter bracket fabbed from plate

The guy I used last time was ok, but quite a ways out of Fuquay.

I was going to post a Wanted to Craigslist, but man do they make you jump through hoops to post in the "Skilled Trades".

Hi Mark. I live in Fuquay too! I have never had the opportunity to use them, but I know that the folks that run Sherrill's Wrecking Service, in Angier, also have a machine shop. I don't know if they only do contract work, but it is worth a call. They are in the yellow pages. I would be curious to know how you made out, because now that I think of it, I may be in need soon.

Hamilton machine shop in Garner will do the job. Family owned for a couple generations, they've always treated me right, and do a good job.

Google says it's about a 20 min drive:

I went to Hamilton's in Garner and Eric is right: they are very nice. Even stayed late a couple minutes to wait for me to arrive.

Just dropped the work off on Friday so have no results to judge them by yet.

You won't be disappointed Mark...they do good work. Small job machine shops are a rapidly disappearing resouce, and when you need one, you NEED one! I hope you spread the word once you get your parts back. No idea how their business is, but I hope it's strong and they stay around a while.
